Biography

Cheryl is the Head of Talent at Monk's Hill Ventures, a venture capital firm investing in early-stage tech companies, primarily Series A, in Southeast Asia. She is based in Singapore and works with portfolio companies on recruiting and scaling, and builds relationships to support existing and future entrepreneurs around the region.

She brings with her over 20 years of talent acquisition, talent management and people operations experience across a variety of organizations and cultures, spanning financial services, technology and media.

Cheryl has worked extensively with VC-backed startups at various stages of growth. Before joining MHV, she was part of Riviera's retained search team in San Francisco focusing on senior technical leadership roles, as well as in-house for Grab, Strava and Instacart. Cheryl also started, co-owned and operated a full-service Modern Hawaiian restaurant in the Bay Area where she oversaw all aspects of human resources, finance and marketing.

Her previous roles included: corporate finance and tech equity research at Morgan Stanley, investor relations at special situations fund Crescent Point, and as an on-air presenter for CNBC and ESPN Asia.

She has a degree in Economics from Cambridge University and a Masters in East Asian Studies from Harvard University.
