Biography

Cheryl is an Associate Partner at Monk’s Hill Ventures, where her role spans talent, portfolio value creation, firm operations, and ecosystem development.

Based in Singapore, she works closely with portfolio companies and founders to build healthy organizations, strengthen their leadership teams, and scale up. With over 20 years of experience across venture-backed startups, financial services and media, Cheryl has operated in many different contexts and cycles.

Prior to MHV, Cheryl was part of Riviera Partners’ retained search team in San Francisco focusing on senior technical leadership roles, and held in-house talent roles at Grab, Strava and Instacart. She also cofounded and operated a full-service Hawaiian restaurant in the Bay Area, overseeing HR, finance and marketing.

Earlier in her career, Cheryl worked in corporate finance and tech equity research at Morgan Stanley, investor relations at special situations fund Crescent Point, and as an on-air presenter for CNBC and ESPN Asia.

She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a Master’s in East Asian Studies from Harvard University.
