About the Speaker
John P. “J.P.” Ellis (CEO) was previously an executive in Quvat Capital Management and the founder of Harpoon Mobile. He is a founding member of the Fintech Association of Indonesia, which works with the government, financial institutions and emerging startups to regulate Indonesia’s young but dynamic fintech industry. JP speaks fluent Bahasa Indonesia and graduated from Columbia University with a BA in International Relations.

Peng was the co-founder of Electric Classifieds (acquired by IAC). After Match.com, he was the founder and CEO of Interwoven, which went public on NASDAQ and grew to a $10B market cap, before being acquired and is now part of HP. After Interwoven, Peng founded Encentuate (acquired by IBM). Most recently, Peng was a Partner at GSR Ventures, a leading VC in China. Peng has also served on many boards, including SingTel and YY.com. He is currently the Chairman of SolveEducation!. Peng earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas and an M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois.
